Since Procter & Gamble’s role in destroying what remains of Indonesia’s forests was exposed they have been suspiciously quiet. No press statements, no posts on Facebook, they haven’t even tweeted. About anything. Time to turn this campaign up to 11.

Today thousands of people around the world are calling Procter & Gamble's head offices to demand they stop trashing Indonesia's rainforests. Here's how you can join in.

1. Call their UK office on 01932 896000

2. Tell them you want them to stop buying palm oil from companies destroying Indonesia's rainforests.

You can use this script as a guide:

I don’t want forest-destroying palm oil in the products I use every day. But you buy palm oil from companies destroying animal habitats to make way for palm oil plantations. Hundreds of thousands of your customers all around the world share my concerns. Now there are as few as 400 Sumatran tigers left in the wild – it’s vital your company commits as soon as possible to a no deforestation policy.

3. Here are some answers to their likely responses:

“We take deforestation very seriously.”

The companies you buy palm oil from are cutting down huge areas of rainforest - Greenpeace has photographic evidence from palm oil companies KLK, Musim Mas and BW Plantation. It’s all in Greenpeace's latest report, Dirty Secrets.

“We are committed to 100% sustainable sourcing by 2015.”

That target is based on your membership of the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) which isn’t good enough. The RSPO does not ban forest destruction and it won’t guarantee that your supply chain is free from deforestation.

Even your current forest-destroying suppliers are RSPO members.

“We’re working hard with other companies to ensure sustainability in palm oil supply chains.”

You’re behind Nestlé, Unilever, and L’Oréal who have all introduced No Deforestation policies that go beyond the RSPO standards. I want you to do the same.

4. Tweet your experience using #call4paradise and let Procter & Gamble know.
