UK book publisher MQ Publications, have adopted an 'ancient forest friendly' procurement policy that commits the company to move all its books onto recycled and/or Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper over the next three years. This follows our collaboration with them as part of the Greenpeace Book Campaign.

To mark the beginnings of this process, MQP will be releasing its first book, 'The Armchair Environmentalist' by Karen Christensen, on recycled paper on the 28th October. It is the first of a number of books that MQP is producing on recycled paper this year. The other titles include The Fearless Traveller (a book of travel tips) by Charlotte Beech and two books of recipes Homemade Muffins and Homemade Cookies.

MQP CEO Zara Weil says 'We were blissfully unaware that the paper we had always assumed was ancient forest friendly just wasn't. So we teamed up with Greenpeace to ensure that we cleaned up our act. In doing so we issue a challenge to other UK publishers to follow suit'.

The Armchair Environmentalist is printed on a 100% recycled paper called Cyclus Offset, produced by the Danish manufacturer Dalum.
